Role Description
The Senior Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Analyst will be a critical contributor on the Cardiovascular HEOR team. The Senior HEOR Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and methodological expertise to support the development and execution of global health economic and outcomes evidence for Cardiovascular products, with an emphasis on the Peripheral Vascular Health portfolio. This position may be called upon to support multiple therapies, with a specific focus area on leading the execution of studies using administrative data to generate regulatory-grade evidence.

Designs and conducts studies using administrative health care claims data and device-derived data to assess outcomes, health services utilization, treatment patterns and costs associated with the use of PVH therapies.

Analysis may be used to support evidence development, federal and global agency (FDA, CMS, EU MDD/MDR) requests, clinical trial design, and reimbursement market trends.

Designs and conducts observational and economic research studies that provide value, perspective and evidence for clinical and/or pre-clinical product portfolio decisions, marketing, regulatory agency submissions, and product reimbursement strategies.

Compares and evaluates the value of products and therapies with the clinical, economic, and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and/or epidemiology studies, registries, observational studies, modeling, surveys, and meta-analysis.

Prepare observational and economic research study results for dissemination via abstract, presentation, and/or peer-reviewed publication.

Develops country specific evidence to meet requirements for optimal reimbursement coverage and usage.

Works closely with Reimbursement staff to determine the global economic evidence needs and potential impact of evidence on therapy coverage, payment, and adoption.

Works with clinical research to add relevant health outcomes and economic endpoints to clinical trials and biostatisticians to analyze and report study results.
Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree
-
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in healthcare industry working with health care data (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, insurance, hospital, health system) or advanced degree and 2 years of post-graduate experience in healthcare industry working with health care data (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, insurance, hospital, health system) preferred
Requirements

Advanced degree in health policy, health services research, health economics, epidemiology, or related field of study

Experience working with administrative claims data

Experience designing, modifying, or implementing decision analysis models (i.e., cost-effectiveness, budget impact)

Experience working with large databases including health care claims, administrative, or patient discharge data as a health service researcher, epidemiologist, data programmer or economist

Proficiency programming using statistical software (e.g. SAS, STATA, R, etc.)

Demonstrated competency in database file manipulation, data analysis and graphical presentation

Strong quantitative skills, preferably with training in econometrics or statistics

An understanding of health insurance and the U.S. health care system

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex analytical techniques in a way that is understandable by non-quantitative audiences

Experience in the development of regulatory-grade analysis, synthesis, and presentation of complex data from multiple sources

Project management experience; demonstrated consultative mindset

Proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization

Proven relationship-building and maintaining skills with internal and external stakeholders including physician customers, hospital administrators or payers

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. Β§ 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $104,800.00 - $157,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
