Role Description
The Senior Director will serve as CHAI's most senior voice on TB, both internally and externally. This person will set a clear programmatic vision, articulate it compellingly, and bring a wide range of audiences along, translating strategy into action.

Define and communicate a bold strategic direction for CHAI's global TB portfolio.

Scan the horizon for shifts in TB financing, epidemiology, policy, and the diagnostic and therapeutic pipeline.

Make disciplined strategic choices about where CHAI should focus.

Develop multi-year programmatic plans, budgets, and performance management systems.

Champion the translation of evidence and operational learning into scalable, government-led program models.

Lead development and execution of CHAI's TB resource mobilization strategy.

Manage major donor relationships and program finances.

Set the intellectual agenda for CHAI's TB work.

Represent CHAI at the highest levels of the global TB community.

Lead, develop, and grow a diverse, high-performing team.

Own the TB program's results and be accountable for its achievements.
Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in global health, development, philanthropy, or a related field.

Strong grounding in economics, cost-effectiveness analysis, or quantitative approaches to resource allocation.

Fluency in how evidence-driven funders evaluate opportunities and make decisions.

Demonstrated success leading global or multi-country programs.

Outstanding communicator who can distil complex technical and strategic issues.

Strong resource mobilization experience.

Excellent project and people management skills.

Demonstrated high bar for quality, analytical rigour, and attention to detail.

Track record of building and managing relationships with senior government officials and major institutional donors.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.

Ability and willingness to travel internationally 25 to 30 percent of the time.
Requirements

Experience working at, with, or for evidence-focused or effective giving-aligned funders.

Knowledge of tuberculosis, including TB epidemiology, diagnostics, therapeutics, and the global TB policy and financing architecture.

Prior experience working with or within national TB programs.

Experience in market shaping, health commodity procurement, or access-to-medicines initiatives.

Experience living and working in sub-Saharan Africa, South or Southeast Asia, or other high-TB-burden regions.

Advanced degree in economics, public policy, public health, management, science, or other relevant fields.
