Role Description
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a RN Behavioral Health Subject Matter Expert (BH SME) β QIN to fill a position with a Non-Profit organization located in Jericho, NY. This 1099 contract role is responsible for identifying, implementing, and managing cross-setting quality improvement strategies within hospital, nursing home, and physician practice settings. The BH SME works with senior leadership, direct care, and performance improvement professionals to provide technical assistance in workflow redesign, team building, communication skills, and emergency preparedness. This position is ideal for an experienced behavioral health professional with a strong quality improvement background who is passionate about improving transitions of care for individuals with behavioral health diagnoses.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher.

Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in New York State.

At least three (3) years of experience working in a healthcare-related field.

At least one (1) year of experience in quality improvement.
Requirements

Occasional travel within New York may be required for onsite provider visits or in-person meetings (no more than once per quarter).
Benefits

Earn a competitive rate of $50 per hour.

As a 1099 independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own benefits and schedule.

The contractor must work 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during office hours (day shift).

The contractor is not regularly available to work on weekends or holidays, but may be required to attend brief meetings or training sessions on weekends or holidays, as reasonably necessary and with advance notice.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, implement, and manage cross-setting quality improvement strategies within hospital, nursing home, and physician practice settings.

Provide technical assistance in workflow redesign, team building, communication skills, and emergency preparedness to ensure implementation and monitoring of evidence-based behavioral health interventions, trauma-informed care, and workplace resiliency.

Work with professional healthcare and community-based organizations to enlist support in improving transitions of care for individuals with behavioral health diagnoses.

Recommend and implement strategies to recruit and engage stakeholders, including providers, community organizations, faith-based groups, community centers, human service agencies, political and business leaders, media, consultants, educational institutions, and Medicare beneficiaries, in collaborative partnerships to improve transitional care outcomes.

Work with the Behavioral Health Aim Lead to develop and present instructional curriculum and content for instructor-led and self-paced learning modules in various formats.

Collaborate with other disciplines to analyze and incorporate participant feedback and apply adult learning principles in developing content related to healthcare emergency preparedness, including planning, patient/family involvement, risk assessment gap analysis, continuity of operations, business continuity planning, post-event evaluation, and quality improvement.

Serve as a mentor or resource to HCQIP staff.

Provide technical assistance to enrolled providers in collaboration with Quality Improvement Advisors.

Ensure behavioral health-related internal reports and required CMS documentation are completed and submitted on time.

Present intervention results to internal and external customers, including CMS, providers, management, and staff, and at large-group conferences as requested.

Assess quality improvement training and information needs of clinicians, administrative staff, and ancillary staff, and coordinate appropriate educational efforts.

Work closely with the HCQIP data analyst and Behavioral Health Aim Lead to design reports monitoring provider and department performance, adjusting interventions and plans based on findings.

Attend and participate in regional conferences, department meetings, and professional education meetings.
