[Hiring] Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist @Trinity Health

Role Description

We are looking for a full-time risk adjustment coding specialist to join our growing Population Health team. This is a full-time, fully remote position on a day shift schedule, including training.

• Responsible for the creation and/or compilation of educational materials.
• Conduct coding and documentation education with providers, the clinic care team, and coding/billing staff.
• May conduct medical record audits for risk adjustment and core quality measures.
• Assist with other performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or some college coursework preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a medical practice setting with involvement in clinic administration, operations, billing, coding, or medical records.
• OR two (2) years of experience in a centralized billing department supporting primary care and/or specialty providers.
• AAPC or AHIMA coding credential required within one (1) year of hire.
• Ability to accurately review and interpret ICD-9/10 coding documentation.
• Experience working with payer data, risk adjustment processes, and quality reporting preferred.

Requirements

• Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) credential preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• One (1) year of experience performing chart audits in a medical environment.
