Role Description

This is a per diem, fully remote opportunity offering flexibility and work-life balance:

• Minimum commitment of 16 hours per month
• Ideal availability of 2–3 shifts per week
• 8-hour or 10-hour shifts available
• No call requirements
• Initial orientation and onboarding completed on-site at Milton Hospital

You’ll join the Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) team at Milton Hospital, playing a critical role in preparing patients for safe and successful surgical procedures. As the hospital continues to grow and expand its surgical services, including the addition of a Breast Surgery program, the PAT team serves as an essential link between patients, providers, and procedural care teams. Every surgical patient passes through PAT, making this a highly visible and impactful role within the organization.

As a PAT Nurse, you'll play a key role in preparing patients for surgery by:

• Conducting comprehensive pre-operative assessments
• Reviewing medical histories
• Evaluating patient readiness
• Coordinating any required medical clearances
• Providing education on anesthesia, procedural expectations, and hospital arrival instructions
• Partnering closely with patients, providers, and surgical teams

This role is well suited for nurses who enjoy patient education, critical thinking, and care coordination in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in MA – BSN preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of Surgical services experience
• Current CPR

Requirements

• Able to utilize MS Word products (Word, Excel, etc.) effectively
• Outstanding communication skills (written/oral/presentation)
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task
• Able to maintain a collegial and professional relationship intra/interdepartmentally and amongst other care disciplines
• Epic experience preferred

Pay Range

$36.00 - $90.14

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
