[Hiring] Professional Billing Specialist @OU Health

Role Description

Entry‑level professional billing role responsible for accurate claim submission and routine follow‑up using established workflows in an academic medical environment.

• Prepare and submit professional claims; correct routine claim errors and rejections.
• Work assigned billing and follow‑up queues in Epic.
• Apply foundational knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10‑CM, modifiers, and payer rules.
• Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of Medical Insurance experience for Level 1.
• At least 3 years of professional billing experience for Level 2.
• CPB required within 1 year of hire date for Level 2.

Requirements

• Candidates must reside and work full-time in AR, KS, MO, OK, or TX before their first day of employment.
• SHIFT: M-F, 8a-5p (some flexibility may be available).
• Ideal candidate will have experience with follow-up and denials.
