Role Description
To support U.S Urology by providing claims processing and precertification for the organization.

Coordinates authorizations and benefits with third parties for visits, procedures, surgeries, medications, imaging, lab, and any other treatments that are ordered.

Verifies eligibility and requests authorizations for various medical orders.

Calculates, communicates with patients, and collects co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, previous balances, or other money owed.

Maintains files for contacts and phone numbers for third party communication.

Prepares and sends Good Faith Estimates to self-pay patients in accordance with the No Surprises Act.

Handles problem referrals with third party and coordinates solution with clinical unit, patient, and referral provider.

Coordinates with physician, clinical staff, insurances, and patients to obtain the authorization.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience in Precertification in a medical practice or medical organization (will substitute educational experience for on-the-job experience).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Benefits or claims processing skills and electronic medical records experience.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
