Role Description
The Optum Serve Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides clinically competent delivery of quality virtual medical care services required during Optum Serve operations. The PA or NP is responsible for providing clinically competent medical care services, within their scope of practice. The PA or NP working remotely on behalf of Optum Serve is responsible for safe patient care and ensuring adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures.

This role is entirely remote and requires working in a non-traditional clinical setting.

Practices within mandated scope of licensure/certification.

Provide excellent patient care within the scope of PA or NP credentialed privileges.

Analyze and interpret histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information.

Maintain complete and detailed records of patientsβ plans of care.

Conduct virtual medical assessment and ensure appropriate follow-ups for all referrals.

Manage new medical problems and appropriate follow-up on any ongoing medical problems.

Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.

Apply proper patient identification practice and HIPAA compliance.

Provide virtual support in emergent situations to patients.

Remain up to date on all contract requirements.
Qualifications

Masterβs Degree from an accredited university in a Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program.

Valid and unrestricted professional PA or NP license in the state which you reside.

Ability to apply for 10+ additional assigned state licensures within 2 weeks of hire date.

Collaborative physician agreement if applicable based on state scope of practice regulations.

1+ years as a PA or NP in a clinical environment.

Experience conducting assessments on a wide variety of acute/chronic conditions.

Proven experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) platforms.

Ability to work one or more of the listed schedule requirements including one weekend rotation per month.
Requirements

2+ years clinical experience in a health care delivery system (preferred).
-
VA and/or military experience (preferred).

Experience working in a Virtual setting (preferred).

Experience working in a call center environment (preferred).

Familiarity with government forms and documentation (preferred).

Proven leadership experience (preferred).
-
Has multiple licensures preferably in one or more of the specified states (preferred).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred).

Excellent social and therapeutic communications skills (preferred).

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills (preferred).

Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and database experience (preferred).

Compensation generally ranges from $113,000 - $173,500.
