Role Description
You're the person who takes a Mira Mace patient from "my visit is today" to actually sitting with their doctor. Right before each telehealth visit, you call the patient and get them ready:
-
Confirm who they are, where they are, their consents, the reason for the visit, medications, insurance, address, and primary care doctor.
-
Bring them into the video room.
-
If the patient speaks Spanish, interpret the visit live between the patient and the provider.
This is a phone- and video-first, non-clinical role: you won't give medical advice. A CHW, LPN, or medical-interpreter background, or years of talking with patients or health-plan members, is what lets you put an older adult at ease, run a checklist without it feeling like one, and interpret accurately when the visit is in Spanish.
What a Day Looks Like
-
A schedule of back-to-back visit preparations: short pre-registration calls timed minutes before each doctor visit.
-
Running the pre-registration checklist on every call: identity, current location, consents, the reason for the visit read back, recent hospital stays, medications, insurance, home address, and primary care doctor.
-
Getting the patient into the video room β sending the link, walking them through joining, and arranging a phone visit when video won't work.
-
Interpreting visits live (English β Spanish) between the patient and the provider when the patient speaks Spanish.
-
Rescheduling on the spot when a patient can't make it, and filling freed slots from the day's cancellation list.
-
Documenting every conversation in our platform as you go, and flagging urgent needs to the care team.
Qualifications
-
Fluent English and Spanish β able to run a patient call in either language and interpret a live medical conversation accurately.
-
Full-time availability, MondayβFriday.
-
One of these: an active LPN/LVN license or CHW certification, a medical-interpreter qualification, or 2+ years speaking directly with patients or health-plan members (member services, patient access or intake, scheduling, or a patient-facing healthcare call center).
-
Located in the United States.
-
Working knowledge of Medicare: Original Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage, Part B, supplemental plans.
-
Comfort with a tight calendar of video calls, measured on visits completed rather than calls made.
-
A reliable computer, internet connection, and a quiet, private space for patient calls (you'll handle protected health information).
Preferred
-
Medical interpreting experience or certification (e.g., CMI, CHI).
-
Experience in telehealth, patient access, or a healthcare call center.
This Role Is Not for You If
-
You want an email or chat support job. This one is on the phone and on video most of the day.
-
You're looking for clinical work. You won't give medical advice.
-
You can interpret casual Spanish but not a medical conversation. Accuracy in the visit is the job.
Pay and Arrangement
-
$25 per hour. Compensation covers approved service time, including patient calls, visit support, documentation, and required administrative communications.
-
The role starts as a remote 1099 independent contractor position, so you're responsible for your own taxes. After a 3-month probation period, it can convert to W-2 employment.
