Role Description

We are looking for a Part-Time Mental Health Provider to join our TalkNow Team. TalkNow is a 24/7, 365, on-demand telehealth service that exclusively serves the higher education student population. As a Part-Time Mental Health Provider on our TalkNow Team, you will act as a primary form of emotional support for the students and members (i.e. faculty & staff) we serve.

• Location: Remote work environment with specific criteria for internet and workspace.
• Schedule:
  • Wednesday & Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. CST (20 hrs.)
  • Wednesday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. CST (24 hrs.)
• Holiday coverage required with a spot bonus of $250.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Master's Degree (M.A./M.S.) in Psychology, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy with Provisional or Associate License is REQUIRED.
• Fully Licensed Mental Health Practitioner - PLUS.
• Strong clinical writing, assessment, and active listening skills.
• Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Experience providing therapeutic services to young adults, adolescents, at-risk populations, or in a community mental health, crisis support, or college counseling environment.

Requirements

• Use active listening skills and evidence-based modalities to build rapport, collaborate, support, and progress student and client care.
• Maintain professional conduct with all students, members, peers, and support staff.
• Remain calm and adapt to the changing needs of the members served.
• Assess, triage, and document sessions with members potentially in crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicidal ideation.
• Respond to members in crisis with professionalism, support, empathy, and cultural humility.
