Role Description

There is an exciting opportunity within the Mental Health Access Team for a full time permanent Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join our dedicated Team. There are two vacant posts:

• One post is based at Vale house in Winsford covering the Central locality.
• One post is at Cherrybank Resource Centre in Ellesmere Port covering West.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Nurse with excellent communication skills, who has the ability and confidence to work autonomously as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The service covers the hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, however there is opportunity for flexible working hours, dependent upon service needs.

The post holder will carry responsibility for the triage, assessment and review of patients who require interventions within Primary Care or onward referral to appropriate services. As a single point of access service, the workload is rich and diverse, including:

• Assessment of mild/moderate mental health difficulties.
• Linking in with our Medical Provision.
• Referring onto Specialist Services, including working closely with Talking Therapies colleagues.
• Assessment of complex and severe mental health problems and referring on to appropriate services, depending on needs and complexities.

We also have Medical Provision within the service consisting of Psychiatrists and an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. You will work as part of an experienced MDT, including:

• Mental Health Nurses
• Psychiatrists
• Psychologists
• Social Prescriber
• Liaising with other teams

Qualifications

• Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification.
• Experience in mental health assessment and intervention.
• Excellent communication skills.
