Role Description

Outsourcing Staffing Advantage is a boutique Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firm specializing in providing high-quality remote professionals to businesses across the United States. We are seeking compassionate, detail-oriented, and organized Medical Virtual Assistants to join our talent pool. In this role, you will support healthcare providers by managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient care, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring efficient daily operations while maintaining patient confidentiality.

• Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Maintain and update patient records in EMR/EHR systems.
• Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments.
• Prepare and manage medical documentation.
• Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, or messaging platforms.
• Assist with medical billing and claims processing.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
• Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
• Support general administrative and office operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, or medical virtual assistant role.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Experience using EMR/EHR systems.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Reliable internet connection and dedicated home office.
• Available to work business hours Eastern Time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S.-based healthcare providers.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations.
• Experience with medical billing and coding processes.
• Experience using Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, Epic, NextGen, AdvancedMD, or similar platforms.
• Medical Assistant certification or healthcare-related education (preferred but not required).
