Role Description

Snapscale is seeking a skilled Medical Virtual Assistant with Ophthalmology experience to support a US-based Ophthalmology clinic in a remote setup. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Insurance verification
• Prior authorization processing
• Patient scheduling
• Appointment coordination
• Inbound call handling
• EMR management

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting U.S. Ophthalmology practices and is knowledgeable in patient coordination, insurance workflows, and healthcare administration.

Qualifications

• Experience working with a U.S.-based Ophthalmology clinic or physician
• Hands-on experience with insurance verification and prior authorization processing
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems, patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and inbound call handling
• Experience verifying vision and medical insurance benefits, including copays, deductibles, and coverage limitations
• Experience communicating directly with insurance providers to resolve eligibility and authorization issues
• Medical billing and coding experience is an advantage
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Excellent customer service and patient communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Comfortable working in a remote setup with a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace
