[Hiring] Medical Support Assistant @Prime Physicians

Role Description

The Medical Support Assistant (MSA) will be responsible for providing administrative support in a healthcare setting. Key responsibilities include:

• Schedule and manage outpatient appointments
• Conduct pre- and post-appointment patient contacts
• Process and track community care referrals/consults
• Verify and update patient demographic information
• Enter and manage patient information in VA systems such as CPRS and VistA
• Answer and route incoming calls
• Respond to patient and staff inquiries
• Coordinate community care services when VA care is unavailable or cannot be provided timely
• Provide customer service to Veterans, families, VA staff, and healthcare providers
• Use Microsoft Office applications and VA scheduling/clinical systems daily
• Escalate system or workflow issues to the Lead MSA or supervisor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
• Typing speed of at least 50 WPM
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• U.S. residency required
• Must be able to complete VA background screening, fingerprinting, and PIV credentialing

Requirements

• 1+ year of scheduling experience in a doctor's office, clinic, hospital, or other healthcare setting (preferred)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
• Experience answering, screening, and routing phone calls (preferred)
