Role Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Medical Secretarial Department here at Rowley Hall Hospital for a bank Medical Secretary. We are a busy and friendly team looking for an experienced secretary with sound computer, audio typing and interpersonal skills. There is the opportunity, once fully trained, to work some shifts remotely.

• Working in a team-based secretarial service providing support for each other and ensuring continuity of the service.
• Act as the first point of contact on behalf of the consultants and deal effectively with all queries from GPs, patients, and other departments.
• Manage clinical dictations on a digital system as required.
• Prioritise your own workload to meet the demands of the service.
• You will benefit from a varied surgical caseload which will broaden your skills and experience as well as support and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous secretarial/administration experience
• Previous audio typing experience – must be able to type 20 letters per day
• Excellent communication & customer service skills
• Ability to prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines
• Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Previous medical secretarial experience and knowledge of medical terminology
