Role Description
Are you energized by building advocacy for vaccination strategies in Belgium through the development of scientific partnerships with key External Experts and Scientific Associations? If so, this Field-Based Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) position could be an ideal opportunity for you.
As MSL, you will provide an expert interface between GSK Medical Affairs and the external healthcare community on medical topics for vaccines, particularly on adult immunization. You will also help ensure the safe and effective use of GSK vaccines through appropriate scientific dialogue.
Through in-field scientific engagement with healthcare providers (HCPs) and external experts (EEs), you foster a more educated healthcare environment by:

Communicating & engaging in peer-to-peer discussions with HCPs & EEs on vaccination guidelines and practices and answering scientific questions from healthcare professionals.

Communicating deep knowledge of GSK data in the context of overall patient care to ensure evidence-based understanding of the science behind GSK vaccines.

Gathering valuable insights on GSK products and services, and on medical and scientific information to better understand patient needs and evidence gaps.
Qualifications

Higher degree in life sciences: PhD, MSc or equivalent, and/or other professional healthcare provision qualification with experience (e.g. physician, surgeon, physiotherapist or pharmacist).

A significant (e.g. 2 years) amount of pharmaceutical industry experience in a role successfully engaging in scientific exchange with external experts.

Experience interpreting and communicating scientific data and statistics.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Fluent in Dutch and in English.
Requirements

Engage in one-to-one scientific dialogue with external experts around GSKβs vaccines, enabling them to confidently discuss with patients and the wider medical community.

Act as an expert speaker at scientific events to disseminate information to larger groups of healthcare providers while stimulating clinical dialogue.

Respond to unsolicited requests for Medical Information from healthcare providers in a fair, factual, balanced, and scientifically rigorous manner.

Act as the interface between the professional healthcare community and the internal GSK medical team and its affiliates.

Drive and execute the field engagement plan to achieve goals in line with strategic plans.

Identify External Experts (EEs) who are professionals, decision makers and other stakeholders in specific disease areas.

Gather scientific and clinical insights and unmet medical needs from HCPs to inform GSK's strategy and development of medicines and vaccines.

Use field insight to optimize effective and impactful Medical Affairs planning in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Managers.

Chair, facilitate and present as an internal expert during meetings/seminars.

Foster a collaborative working relationship with Commercial colleagues.

Partner with matrix colleagues (e.g. sales, marketing, market access, etc.) to ensure strategies and business plans are both patient and business focused.

Support clinical development activities by participating in the site identification and assessment process.

Act as the trainer and medical/scientific expert for GSK sales representatives and commercial colleagues regarding GSK vaccines.

Maintain a level of expertise in the evolving scientific/therapeutic area and in competitor products.

Attend scientific meetings and congresses to keep abreast of the evolving science in a therapy area.

Fully understand and comply with GSK standards and policies and with local codes of practice, guidelines and laws.
