Role Description
The territory for this role is Ontario West. As a Medical Science Liaison, you will be a trusted scientific partner to oncologists, translating emerging data into confident, timely clinical choices.
Accountabilities:

Scientific Exchange:
Lead balanced, objective discussions with healthcare professionals on new and emerging data, including benefits and risks that inform treatment decisions.

Thought Leader Collaboration:
Engage experts as scientific consultants in advisory boards, speaker programs, and clinical trials aligned to strategic priorities.

Expert Identification:
Identify and cultivate relationships with HCPs demonstrating scientific excellence to collaborate on forward-looking basic and preclinical research.

Regional Insight Generation:
Provide nuanced regional understanding of clinical practice patterns, key issues, and trends to inform medical plans and evidence generation.

Lifecycle Subject Matter Expertise:
Act as regional (field based) subject matter expert in the lifecycle management of products in assigned therapeutic areas.

Research Support:
Use scientific exchange to find opportunities for research with HCPs and, where appropriate, connect these opportunities to the Medical Advisor as part of the Externally Sponsored Research (ESR) process.

Trial Site Scientific Support:
Equip priority clinical sites with relevant molecule and disease expertise at or near site initiation to enable high-quality conduct.

Recruitment Partnership:
Collaborate with clinical operations to help ensure timely site activation and robust patient recruitment that meets study timelines.
Qualifications

Ability to effectively synthesize and communicate scientific information at a peer level with a physician.

Previous experience as a healthcare professional (PharmD, MD) or one with scientific expertise including PhD or MSc.

Two or more years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a physician-facing role.

Excellent ability to learn and capacity for scientific concepts and knowledge.

Effective and demonstrated strong communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.

Excellent interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills.

Good organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner.

Expert knowledge of the health care environment with regards to Opinion Leaders, Academia and the Medical Community in general.

Travel required (Local, Regional and National).

Experience in the therapeutic area of Oncology (gastrointestinal cancers) is preferred.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 145,156.00 to 190,517.25.
