Role Description
The Certified Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing clinician-entered charge suggestions, resolving coding edits, validating charge accuracy, and managing coding queues within obstetric and GYN services. This role supports accurate charge capture by reviewing suggested CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding and making coding corrections when documentation review identifies discrepancies or opportunities for improvement. This role is primarily focused on coding validation and edit resolution rather than routine chart abstraction or full medical record coding.
