Role Description

This requisition is for a consultancy at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO).

• Provide technical support to PAHO’s Immunization Unit (CIM) by strengthening immunization data management.
• Enhance data quality, support the analysis and visualization of country data.
• Contribute to the development and use of a Data Quality methodology for VPD surveillance information systems.
• Support the development, validation, and implementation of a methodology to evaluate the data quality of the information system used to surveillance vaccine-preventable diseases, specifically measles.
• Conduct analyses for estimating the indicators proposed within the PAHOabc approach and associated reports.
• Support the implementation and improvement of the Performance monitoring tool for EPI.

Qualifications

• Professional with a university degree in health (Medicine, nursing, etc.) and postgraduate university degree in areas related to Public Health.
• At least 7 years experience in health, disease surveillance, management, and use of health information systems and data.
• Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, or use of VPD Surveillance information systems, Electronic Immunization Registries, or other immunization information systems.
• Proven skills in data analysis, data quality assessment, and use of statistical or visualization tools.
• Professional experience in immunization programs and disease surveillance is appreciated.
• Intermediate knowledge of Spanish or English is required.

Requirements

• At least 7 years experience in health, disease surveillance, management, and use of health information systems and data.
• Remote work with standard working hours in Washington DC, USA time.
• Payment: Band B, US $258 daily, processed upon submission of deliverables and approval by the supervisor.

Benefits

• Total compensation for the consultancy is USD 30,960.
• Deliverables include technical documents, reports on methodologies, and analyses to support immunization programs.
