[Hiring] Health Information Management Technician II @Guidehouse

Role Description

The Health Information Management (HIM) Tech II will process, analyze, and ensure all medical records are complete within the required time frame. This position is 100% remote.

• Ensures the integrity of the electronic medical record through analysis and review.
• Interacts and communicates with medical and professional staff to assist with research, audits, and timely completion of medical records.
• Responds to requests for release of medical information for direct patient care from internal and external parties according to departmental and hospital guidelines.
• Coordinates completion of patient’s medical record and ensures appropriate chart information is present and takes appropriate steps to secure any missing information.
• Works with supervisor and/or manager to identify and solve problems, decrease any workflow restrictions, implement process improvements, and ensure timely completion of data collection.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years prior relevant experience.
• Associate's degree from an accredited Health Information Technology/Health Information Management program (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education).
• Current certification or eligibility to sit for the national exam for Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by AHIMA. (If RHIT or RHIA eligible, certification must be obtained within six months from the date of hire).
