Role Description

Custom Learning Designs (CLD) is hiring a Freelance Medical Writer for a fully remote freelance position. The Freelance Medical Writer will develop high-quality, scientifically accurate medical and pharmaceutical content while translating complex clinical information into clear, engaging materials for diverse audiences. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced writer with a strong life sciences background and a passion for creating evidence-based content.

As a Freelance Medical Writer, you will:

• Research scientific literature
• Synthesize findings
• Develop accurate, reader-friendly content that supports healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical education initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of freelance or in-house medical writing experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare-related environment
• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacology, Medicine, Journalism, Writing, or a related field
• Advanced degree preferred
• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device sales training experience is a plus

Requirements

• Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to quickly learn and understand complex medical and scientific topics
• Experience researching and evaluating primary scientific literature
• Ability to identify and incorporate appropriate reference citations
• Skilled at translating technical clinical and scientific information into clear, compelling content for non-scientific audiences
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Commitment to producing high-quality, scientifically sound deliverables
