Role Description
The Market Medical Director is a key clinical leadership role responsible for partnering with the Market President to lead the market team, oversee Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, and provide direct care to a small panel of high-risk patients. This leader will support care across home, community, dialysis, and hospital settings while ensuring:

Accurate clinical documentation

Strong provider performance

Reduced unnecessary medical utilization
The role also includes:

Coaching and developing APPs

Evaluating clinical competencies
-
Reinforcing evidence-based treatment practices

Using population health principles, KPIs, and clinical data to improve patient outcomes, quality, and cost of care
What You Will Do:

Collaborate with the Market President to deliver results against key performance indicators and overall P&L outcomes

Lead and develop Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants across the market

Upskill Advanced Practice Providers through high-intensity provider coaching based on KPI performance

Provide direct patient care to a small panel of high-risk patients

Manage the highest-need, highest-risk patients through short-interval follow-up to stabilize their conditions before transitioning them to APP panels when appropriate
-
Support timely access to care for new patients

Help ensure clinical documentation is thorough and accurate

Coach clinical team members to strengthen problem-solving skills and reduce unnecessary medical utilization

Provide ongoing education and evaluation of APP competencies, including diagnostic skills, evidence-based treatment protocols, and treatment capabilities

Teach and reinforce the fundamentals of population health management

Lead health plan and network provider partnership discussions

Drive relationship management with partners to support key business results, including growth targets, partner engagement, and clinical and financial outcomes

Support board material content and creation

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Must reside in Florida
-
M.D. or D.O. graduate
-
Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required
-
5-15 years of experience in outpatient or home-based practices
-
Extensive experience in clinical leadership roles coaching and developing Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or physicians

Experience utilizing KPIs and data to drive improved cost, quality, and clinical outcomes for patients

Comfort working with ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications

Value-based care experience

Fellowship training in Geriatrics

Additional professional degrees such as an MPH, MBA, or JD

Experience in a start-up environment
