Role Description
A leading medical institution seeks a Research Analyst to design, build, test, and implement Epic clinical application systems that support clinical research workflows.

Design, build, test, and implement clinical application systems, collaborating with clinicians, clinical research coordinators, and the research community to customize the Epic system for research needs.

Prepare detailed specifications covering clinical processes, information flow, and risk and impact analysis, and refine documentation, workflows, and configurations to improve efficiency and usability.

Design and maintain Epic features such as SmartForms, MyChart Recruitment Messages, and e-Consents, and configure and optimize Best Practice Advisories (BPAs), SmartSets, and OrderSets.

Resolve research end-user issues by documenting and coordinating with technical teams to address root causes, and provide customer service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ongoing support for Research Study Management and Enrollment interfaces.

Proactively identify risks in research-related processes and design and implement Epic-based solutions to mitigate issues before they affect workflows or data integrity.

Develop comprehensive test scenarios and conduct rigorous testing to verify that system functionality meets operational requirements.
Qualifications

3-5 years of related work experience.

Epic Research certification.

Broad and/or in-depth knowledge of 1-2 clinical applications specialty areas, including design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.

Advanced build experience in SmartTexts templates and SmartTools, Doc Flowsheets, Order Transmittal, OrderSets and SmartSets, Workflow Engine Rules, Role/Menu/Activity/Navigator setup, MyChart Questionnaires, Preference Lists, Facility Structure, Oncology Research Studies, Reporting Workbench, and Synopsis and Radar Dashboards.

Proficiency in customizing Epic workflows, security templates, user workspaces, and dashboards for research requirements.

Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports.

Ambulatory certifications are preferred.
