Role Description
CookUnity is building a clinical nutrition model to support the delivery of medically tailored meals (MTM) for members living with chronic conditions β primarily diabetes, cancer, weight management with GLP-1s, and cardiovascular disease. The RD Supervisor will be the clinical anchor of this model. This is a part-time, fully remote role (~20 hours/week) for a seasoned RDN who brings deep clinical expertise, a passion for population health and food equity, and the judgment to translate evidence-based practice into scalable, culturally responsive care.
What You'll Do

Phase 1 β First 90 Days: Clinical Model Development (Primary Focus)

Develop a framework for building and growing the CookUnity RDN network.

Co-develop disease-specific nutrition protocols for diabetes, oncology, weight management with GLP-1s, and cardiovascular conditions.

Define the nutrition assessment framework.

Build structured visit frameworks for nutrition education and counseling.

Integrate behavior change methodology into care delivery standards.

Establish culturally responsive practice standards.

Develop clinical documentation standards, quality metrics, and outcome tracking.

Build and curate a clinical resource library.

Phase 2 β Direct Patient Care (May Begin Concurrently with Phase 1)

Carry a defined direct-care caseload (target: 8β12 active members).

Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans.

Deliver evidence-based nutrition counseling and education.

Collaborate with health plan care teams on member care management.

Phase 3 β Ongoing: RDN Network Supervision (As Model Matures)

Provide clinical oversight and quality assurance for the CookUnity RDN network.

Conduct regular chart audits and clinical case reviews.
-
Facilitate monthly peer review or case consultation sessions.

Serve as the primary clinical escalation point for complex cases.

Lead onboarding and training of contracted and subcontracted RDNs.

Identify individual and collective training needs.
Qualifications
-
Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential in good standing.

Active state dietitian licensure where required.

5+ years of clinical RD experience with a focus on chronic disease management.

Demonstrated experience delivering Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).

Familiarity with behavior change frameworks, including Motivational Interviewing.

Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with telehealth.

Self-directed and comfortable building processes in a fast-moving environment.
Requirements

CDCES β Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (strongly preferred).

NBC-HWC β National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

CSO β Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition.

CSOWM β Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management.

Washington State Licensed Dietitian (LD) licensure, or willingness to obtain.

FAND β Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Formal Motivational Interviewing training or certification.
-
Experience in medically tailored meal (MTM) or community-based nutrition programs.

Prior experience supervising or mentoring RDNs or clinical nutrition staff.
