Role Description
The pharmacist will provide care for hematology and oncology patients seen at UI Health Care Oncology clinics throughout the state of Iowa. They will provide clinical support, education, coordination of dispensing, and monitoring for patients receiving specialty medications. The pharmacist serves as a role-model/practitioner-educator for Doctor of Pharmacy students and pharmacy residents and carries out clinical practice responsibilities for the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. This position is posted as remote, hybrid, or in-person.

This position is expected to have an eight-hour workday between the hours of 8am-6pm central time.

This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is required.

Eligibility for or current license by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners is required prior to start.
Requirements

Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 oncology pharmacy practice residency OR 5 yearsβ oncology experience in a complex multi-disciplinary healthcare environment.

Active board certification.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills are required.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in both inpatient and outpatient oncology pharmacy is highly desirable.

Specialty pharmacy experience is desirable.

Active board certification in Oncology is desirable.

PGY-1 or PGY-2 residency experience is desirable.

PGY-2 residency experience in oncology is highly desirable.

Able to work independently, prioritize multiple stakeholders and tasks, manage details and deliver results in an environment with competing demands.

Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others.
