Role Description

The Staff Psychiatrist is a member of a clinical team of physicians, nurses and clinicians responsible for ensuring quality of care for consumers being served by the organization. The Staff Psychiatrist, under the supervision of the Medical Director, is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric medication review services and consultation services as a component/package of CMH Access authorized consumer services.

• Medical Diagnosis and Treatment
• Psychiatric Services Assessment
• Provisions of Care

Requirements

• Performing a comprehensive evaluation that investigates the consumer’s clinical status, including:
• Presenting problem
• History of illness
• Psychiatric, physical and medication history
• Relevant personal and family history
• Personal strengths and assets
• Mental status examination
• Prescribing, monitoring and evaluating psychotropic and medication assisted treatment medications within the service boundaries.
