[Hiring] Social Media Lead @Knowt

Role Description

Knowt is the study app about 8 million high schoolers use to get through AP classes, the SAT and ACT, finals, and college apps. We’re looking for someone to be the face and voice of Knowt’s high school social presence. You’ll own our TikTok and Instagram (@getknowt) end to end and make them the account students actually want to follow: funny, relatable, and useful.

This isn’t a brand marketing job. You’re not talking at high schoolers. You’re one of them, or close enough that you still speak the language. You know the 2am cram sessions, the group chat panic before an AP exam, the SAT score reveal, and the Common App essay spiral, and you know how to turn all of it into content that hits.

• Part-time, 15–20 hrs/week
• Fully remote
• Base pay plus performance bonuses tied to account growth
• You’ll report to our Student Marketing Manager and work with her every day
• You’ll start with an established account: 476K followers, backed by a platform 8 million students use. You’re not building from zero.

Qualifications

• Experience running and growing an account, your own or a brand’s. Show us the numbers.
• Real comfort on camera. You’ll be on screen every day, so this is non-negotiable.
• Fluency in high school culture. You’ve lived AP classes, standardized tests, and application season recently enough that it still feels like your world.
• An instinct for what goes viral on TikTok and Instagram, and the ability to explain why.
• Reliability. You hit deadlines, respond to feedback quickly, and treat the account like it’s yours.
• A data-driven approach. Your creative calls are backed by views and conversion data.

Requirements

• Experience making content for edtech, test prep, or student audiences (nice to have)
• Experience scripting for other creators (nice to have)
• Strong AP, SAT, or ACT results of your own (credibility goes a long way with this audience) (nice to have)

Benefits

• A real audience from day one.
• Growing an account this size is something you can point to for years.
• Real ownership. You set the creative direction, and your ideas don’t get lost in layers of approval.
• You get direct feedback from one person who wants you to win.
• A small team that moves fast. You’ll work directly with our Student Marketing Manager, with access to our CMO.
• Flexible hours, plus room to grow the role if it’s working.
