Role Description
The Role involves integrating strategy into an integrated, funded media portfolio—aligning audiences, sequencing, investment, and measurement to maximize qualified demand and downstream revenue impact.
Operates with broad latitude in a complex, long-cycle B2B environment. Anticipates platform, market, privacy, and regulatory changes; solves novel cross-channel performance problems; and advises marketing leaders on investment choices, risks, and opportunities. Remains hands-on in the platforms while establishing the standards, decision frameworks, and operating practices used by the broader team.
Main Responsibilities
-
Set the enterprise approach for paid search, paid social, and ABM media, contributing media expertise to functional campaign, demand-generation, and measurement strategy.
-
Own the architecture and performance of a seven-figure annual media portfolio across Google Search, Display, YouTube and Performance Max, LinkedIn, Demandbase, and other relevant channels.
-
Integrate audiences, account targeting, message sequencing, frequency, and budget allocation across platforms so channels operate as one coordinated system.
-
Exercise independent judgment on pacing and reallocation across platforms, campaigns, and tactics; balance short-term signals with downstream conversion evidence and document material investment decisions.
-
Diagnose and resolve unique, high-complexity performance or measurement issues whose impact extends across campaigns, functions, or business priorities.
-
Anticipate changes in media platforms, auction dynamics, privacy, brand safety, and regulation; assess business impact and recommend portfolio, process, or capability improvements.
-
Establish governance and best practices for account structure, taxonomy, audience and keyword hygiene, exclusions, frequency, quality controls, and audit-ready documentation.
-
Lead a disciplined experimentation roadmap across bidding, audiences, offers, creative, landing experiences, and formats, including test design, holdouts, interpretation, and scaled adoption of findings.
-
Advise senior marketing stakeholders on media effectiveness, tradeoffs, and investment scenarios by connecting platform performance to CRM, pipeline, and revenue outcomes.
-
Lead high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives with Creative, Marketing Operations, Field Marketing, Finance, and Analytics to improve media effectiveness and measurement.
-
Own strategic platform and vendor relationships, including platform-funded and co-op opportunities, and influence partner roadmaps and service levels.
-
Serve as the escalation point and technical authority for paid media; coach the paid social buyer and elevate capability across the broader marketing organization.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related area.
-
8+ years of experience buying B2B paid media in-house or at an agency, with direct account ownership in Google Ads and LinkedIn Campaign Manager. Demandbase or comparable ABM platform experience also required.
-
Demonstrated management of at least a seven-figure annual media budget, with personal responsibility for pacing and reallocation decisions.
-
Strong analytical skills: comfortable in platform reporting, spreadsheet modeling, and a BI or CRM dashboard, and able to explain a performance shift in terms of its underlying driver.
-
Comfort operating in a long, considered B2B sales cycle where the meaningful conversion happens weeks after the click and the platform's own optimization signal is thin.
-
Collaboration with creative teams on performance creative, and with operations teams on lead flow.
-
Ability to synthesize market data and analyze business performance metrics, KPIs, and similar.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Master’s degree or equivalent.
-
10+ years of experience with buying B2B media.
-
Extensive experience in the technology industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends.
