Role Description
Honeycomb is a service for the near and present future, defining observability and raising expectations of what developer tools can do! We’re working with well-known companies like HelloFresh, Slack, LaunchDarkly, and Vanguard across a range of industries. This is an exciting time in our trajectory, we’ve closed Series D funding, scaled past the 200-person mark, and were named to Forbes’ America’s Best Startups of 2022 and 2023!
This role is built for someone early in a product marketing career who wants to systematically improve the customer buying journey. As a product and messaging expert, you will partner with go-to-market teams to drive business impact through sales and marketing campaigns. You will get real ownership of real launches, and you will have senior product marketers, a technical field team, and engineers who like explaining their work close at hand. Our audience is engineers and platform teams, so the bar is accuracy first: we would rather be precise and useful than clever.
Responsibilities
-
Messaging and positioning:
Write and maintain messaging for features and product areas, ensuring accuracy and grounding in what the product actually does.
-
Launches:
Run launch execution for small and mid-sized releases and support larger ones. Build the plan, write the assets, coordinate with Product, Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success, and report on launch performance.
-
Content:
Produce practical material that helps people evaluate and adopt Honeycomb, including blog posts, solution briefs, web copy, demo scripts, FAQs, and customer-facing one-pagers.
-
Sales enablement:
Equip the field with necessary materials, including pitch narratives, objection handling, battlecards, and release updates. Join customer calls and refine materials as needed.
-
Competitive and market intelligence:
Track the observability market and competitor moves, maintaining current and honest competitive assets.
-
Voice of customer and proof points:
Engage with customers and prospects to create case studies, quotes, and proof points, feeding insights back to Product and Marketing.
-
Measurement:
Define success metrics for your work, analyze data, and share insights, including lessons from unsuccessful efforts.
Qualifications
-
2 to 5 years of experience in product marketing or a closely adjacent go-to-market role such as content marketing, sales engineering, technical writing, developer relations, or product management, with at least some experience in B2B SaaS.
-
Strong writing skills, capable of transforming dense technical explanations into concise, accurate, and useful content.
-
Curiosity about technical products and the patience to learn how they work.
-
Passion for team success, looking for smart solutions rather than simply taking orders.
-
Ability to manage projects across teams without formal authority, including setting timelines and tracking progress.
-
Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward shipping work.
-
Willingness to use data for decision-making and self-evaluation.
-
Demonstrated experience applying AI tooling in your work.
Nice to have

Experience marketing to engineers as the primary audience.
-
Hands-on familiarity with AI and LLM tooling, including coding agents and MCP-based workflows.
-
Experience with webinars, conference talks, or community programs.
-
Experience working in a fully distributed company.
Benefits
-
A stake in our success - generous equity with an employee-friendly stock program.
-
Transparent pay structure based on experience.
-
Unlimited PTO for time to recharge.
-
A distributed-first mindset and culture.
-
Home office, co-working, and internet stipend.
