[Hiring] Marketing Lead @rise

Role Description

Small businesses have big ambitions and a lot of work standing in the way. Payroll, benefits, and employee records eat up time they'd rather spend on customers and growth. Rise is a proudly Canadian company helping them get that time back.

As our Marketing Lead , you'll help more Canadian businesses see what's possible with Rise. In your first year, you'll focus on building broad awareness of Rise across the Canadian market and growing our reach through owned and earned channels.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop marketing stories worth telling.
• Get close to our customers and product, find the stories that matter, and figure out how to bring them to market.
• Take campaigns from idea through execution.
• Write the copy, build the pages and emails, work with design, and carry the work through to launch.
• Own distribution.
• Decide how each campaign will reach people. Put your experience in paid ads or social media to work, and build on the channels that produce a meaningful response.
• Lead and coordinate work with contractors and in-house specialists across digital advertising, content writing, and graphic design, along with other vendors.
• Set clear briefs, give useful feedback, and keep quality and timelines on track.
• Partner with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to understand customer needs, shape campaigns and launches, and create materials that help people understand, buy, and get more value from Rise.
• Build your own ways of working with AI.
• Create agents, skills, and automations for recurring work, refine them as you learn, and share the useful ones with the team.
• Know what worked. Set up tracking, follow the response through to Sales-qualified leads, and use the results to decide what to improve or do next.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of hands-on marketing experience, or equivalent depth demonstrated through your work.
• Strong writing skills with good marketing judgment.
• Experience using AI tools like Claude Cowork/Code or ChatGPT Codex.
• Comfortable creating landing pages, setting up email campaigns, and using analytics.
• Practical experience distributing marketing through paid ads or social media.
• Ability to take a loosely defined opportunity and turn it into finished work.

Requirements

• Ability to show work you personally made and explain the choices behind it.
• Experience building multiple agents, skills, or scheduled automations.
• Willingness to investigate and work through unfamiliar tools or issues.
• Desire to understand good marketing and study campaigns.
• Bonus: Developed a repeatable way to generate qualified inquiries or pipeline.

• Base salary of CAD $100,000–$130,000, depending on experience, plus stock options.
