[Hiring] Marketing Intern @Yoke

Role Description

Yoke is looking for an early-career marketer who writes unusually well, learns quickly, and likes making things. This is an apprenticeship with real ownership, where you will:

• Learn how our customers think, work, buy, and communicate.
• Turn customer understanding into clear messages, useful content, and focused campaigns.
• Take ideas from rough brief to finished work across different formats and channels.
• Help test messages and creative ideas, then improve them from feedback and evidence.
• Use AI and other tools to move faster and attempt more ambitious work without outsourcing your judgment.
• Build simple systems, templates, and processes that make the next piece of work better.
• Take increasing ownership as your skills and judgment grow.

Qualifications

• You write exceptionally well.
• You have made things—show at least two substantive things you helped create.
• You learn quickly and respond well to direct feedback.
• You use AI with judgment and remain the author of the final result.
• You take ownership without bringing ego.
• An eye for design, technical curiosity, and sales or customer-facing experience are useful but not required.

Requirements

• Basic information about you and one or two sentences about why this opportunity interests you.
• Links to two things you have made, with one sentence explaining your exact contribution to each.
• Complete the writing exercise as outlined below.

Benefits

• Compensation: $30 CAD per hour.
• Open to either part-time or full-time work.
• Initial four-month contract, with the possibility of extension or conversion into a longer-term role based on performance and business needs.
• Remote work within Canada.
• Eligible candidates must be available to work Pacific Time hours (PST/PDT).

Writing Exercise

Writing is the entrance requirement for this role. Choose a subject from direct experience that most people misunderstand or overlook, and use the same central idea for all three pieces:

• A tweet: no more than 280 characters.
• A short explanation: no more than 100 words.
• A short argument: no more than 200 words, with a title.

Using AI is allowed for this exercise, but the final output must reflect your own thinking and decisions.

What to Expect from the Process

• Application and writing review.
• 30-minute live interview discussing your writing submission and experiences.
• 45-minute final working session responding to a fictional marketing situation.
