Role Description

A profitable DTC pet brand doing $50M+ a year, scaling to $100M+, fully remote is looking for a Head of Brand & Community to join our team! You will own how people see and feel about our two brands: the brand story and identity, and the brand moments that build awareness and goodwill, including shelter and charity partnerships, activations and events, PR and community.

The mission of this role is to make our brands the most loved and trusted pet brands in North America, not just the most bought. Success is measured by:

• More people searching for us by name
• More customers coming from word of mouth
• More earned press
• A giving-back program customers know us for

Qualifications

• 7+ years in brand, communications or brand marketing at consumer brands
• Track record of building awareness through cause partnerships, events and PR
• Experience running campaigns for a North American audience

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Brand Builder: Experience in building awareness and goodwill for a consumer brand through causes, events and PR
• Brand Moments: Experience planning and shipping brand moments end to end, on time and on budget
• Cause Marketing: Experience running nonprofit or shelter partnerships that are real, measured and credible
• PR & Storytelling: Ability to turn a moment into a story that press and customers repeat
• North America: Experience running campaigns for a North American audience
• Brand Taste: A sharp eye for what is on-brand
• Commercial Mindset: Ability to tie brand work to measurable results
• No issue working overtime or on weekends if needed
• Excellent cultural fit as per our values
• Excited to play a big role in scaling the company and work closely with the founder

Benefits

• Fully remote, full-time position
• Salary expectation: US$45,000–70,000 base per year (based on experience and expertise), plus a bonus of 10–20% of base

Accountabilities

• Brand foundation and guidelines: Own the brand story, guidelines and asset library for both brands
• Cause and shelter partnerships: Choose each brand's anchor causes with the CEO and manage partnerships
• Brand moments and activations: Build the yearly brand-moment calendar and run each one end to end
• PR and earned media: Pitch press and podcasts directly or through a PR agency
• Community and customer stories: Turn reviews, photos and stories into brand content
• Brand reporting and budget: Report brand health monthly and own the brand budget
