Role Description
Weβre looking for an Engagement Marketing Lead to help Square sellers discover more value in our products and build lasting relationships with Square. Youβll lead a team that turns seller insights into strategies that drive product adoption, deepen engagement, and deliver measurable business growth.
Youβll bring together audience strategy, messaging, experimentation, and channel planning to create relevant, connected experiences across the seller journey. Working closely with Product and cross-functional partners, youβll set priorities, develop your team, and balance long-term growth opportunities with business commitments. The role has global scope, with an initial focus on the U.S.
You will:
-
Lead and develop the engagement marketing team. Set outcome-based goals, coach senior strategists, and define quarterly priorities, owners, and dependencies while delivering business commitments.
-
Own cross-product growth priorities. Size opportunities and allocate capacity based on seller needs and business impact. Partner with Product on adoption, monetization, and the end-to-end seller experience.
-
Establish proactive go-to-market planning. Align Product, Growth, Brand, Sales, Customer Insights, Creative, and channel partners on launch support, audiences, messaging, ownership, and resource tradeoffs.
-
Lead program-wide experimentation. Partner with Data Science on coordinated holdouts and incremental measurement. Test recommendations, messaging, incentives, and channels; use evidence and economics to decide what to scale, refine, or stop.
-
Establish communications governance. Set ownership, eligibility, frequency, sequencing, suppression, and risk-based review standards. Resolve competing messages, prevent over-messaging, and protect required communications.
-
Scale execution responsibly. Partner with Lifecycle Operations, GTM Automation, and external agencies on production and automation. Retain accountability for strategy, approvals, access, quality, and escalation.
-
Oversee portfolio delivery and partnerships. Hold owners accountable for launches, ongoing growth, incentives, and partnership commitments.
