Role Description

IRC is seeking a Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator under the direct supervision of the Information and Referral Service Manager and will support the Washington Immigrant Information Center (WA-Immigrant.Info). The Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for development, management, and dissemination of quality, verified, and relevant client-facing information. They will manage the social media strategy and dissemination of content on the Washington Immigrant Information Center’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The position is integral within the team and will work closely with Specialists in publishing content through digital and other diverse channels based on need and responding to clients’ information needs.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure content is accurate, complete, easy to understand and engaging
  • Collaborate on, edit written and multimedia content built by Washington Immigrant Information Center team
  • Define, implement, and monitor digital advertising campaigns – both paid and organic
  • Publish relevant and appropriate content on the Washington Immigrant Information Center digital platforms
  • Monitor traffic and other feedback emanating from Washington Immigrant Information Center platform
  • Contribute to the communication strategy in collaboration with the Information & Referral Services Manager
  • Use the translation-management software and other tools to prepare content for publication
  • Continuously ensure that the editorial content is up to date
  • Review and track metrics to adapt messaging and resources, based on the engagement of users and the feedback provided by those who visit our website and social media sites
  • Continuously monitor web and social media performance indicators, review, and track metrics within Zendesk, flag criticalities, and propose improvements to the communication and marketing strategy
  • Work with Information Technology team to resolve technical issues across platforms
  • Contribute to drafting reports on Washington Immigrant Information Center content
  • Coordinate with Digital Content Creator to develop social media posts, captions, graphics, and overall dissemination schedule
  • Manage article workflow, including drafting initial copy, coordinating with legal team as needed, working with external translation vendor, and organizing translations on Box and in Monday.com.

Staff Support

  • Provide technical guidance for clear and accessible information provision to Specialists
  • Manage content calendar in Monday.com

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in multimedia journalism, digital communications, or relevant field.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of reporting, writing, or editing experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of digital content management experience, including for online platforms and social media
  • Knowledge of graphic design software (Canva or Adobe Products) preferred
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience using CMS
  • Knowledge of immigration and refugee issues; previous work experience in the immigration field desired

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work independently with remote management
  • Fluency in English required
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally with empathy, humility, and confidentiality
  • Project management experience preferred

Working Environment

Standard, professional office environment; primarily remote-based

Compensation

Pay Rate: $32-$35.50. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
