Role Description
The Senior National Underwriter leads transactions on a national multi-state/site, and high-profile title insurance transactions on behalf of Sightline Land Services.

Underwrite and lead transactions in states Sightline obtains licenses.

Resolve commitment issues, title object letters, proforma issues, and final policies for licensed states.

Conduct survey review and endorsement issuance for licensed states.

Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite the issuance of title insurance.

Analyze recordings including liens, judgments, easements, surveys, legal descriptions, and vesting documents to identify risks and verify title conditions.

Provide pricing for commitments or reports, endorsements, final policies, and guarantees using appropriate schedules.

Create and issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes.

Review and approve all title clearance.

Edit commitments for licensed state deals.

Generate proformas and final policies for licensed state deals.

Serve as primary point of contact throughout the transaction up to closing.

Ensure recordings are successfully and timely recorded and issue final policies.

Ensure all documents are uploaded to Softpro or document repository correctly.

Independently underwrite, direct, and oversee all aspects and phases of the title insurance process on large and complex national commercial real estate transactions.

Identify possible title insurance coverage issues on national transactions and negotiate solutions.

Facilitate and oversee the escrow, closing, and settlement processes on commercial real estate transactions.

Review, approve, and comply with all escrow instructions and settlement requirements.

Independently review and approve all transaction-required documentation necessary to the issuance of a title policy.

Negotiate and calculate title premiums and fees on commercial real estate transactions.

Understand fundamental title insurance and underwriting concepts.

Comprehend industry workshare models and regulatory limitations.

Serve as primary contact for all workshare partners and underwriters.

Oversee deal pipeline information and reporting.
Requirements

Remote work possible.

Experience underwriting in multiple states; knowledge of Texas underwriting a plus.

7+ years experience with commercial transactions (portfolio transactions a plus).

Ability to independently manage complex, high-dollar, and time-sensitive transactions.

Proficiency with Softpro desired but not required.

Understanding of TDI rate rules and promulgated forms.

Juris doctorate required.
Compensation
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this Chicago, Dallas or remote-based non-exempt position will be $165,000 to $210,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
