Role Description
Solventum is seeking a Senior Managing Counsel to serve as the lead commercial contracting legal advisor for the Medical Surgical business across the United States and Canada. In this role, you will provide practical, business-oriented counsel on complex commercial contracting matters, with a primary focus on:

Group Purchasing Organization (GPO)

Integrated Delivery Network (IDN)

Health system and strategic customer contracting

Distributor agreements
-
Strategic pricing initiatives
-
Durable medical equipment (DME) arrangements

Government and public-sector contracting

Commercial escalations involving legal, compliance, financial, and business risks
Working closely with leaders across various functions, you will help enable growth while balancing legal, regulatory, and commercial objectives. This role also provides dedicated support for Solventum's U.S. and Canada MedSurg contracting operations.

Leading legal support for U.S. and Canada MedSurg strategic contracting activities.

Partnering closely with commercial contracting, sales, pricing, finance, compliance, and business teams.

Helping maintain and improve contracting playbooks and negotiation strategies.

Providing strategic counsel on pricing, rebates, and commercial risk.

Supporting Solventum's U.S. Durable Medical Equipment (DME) business.

Advising on government and public-sector contracting matters.

Serving as a trusted legal advisor to MedSurg commercial leadership.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Ten (10) years of legal experience.

Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial agreements and government agreements.

Experience supporting healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or regulated product industries.

Experience advising on healthcare fraud and abuse, government program, or public-sector contracting matters.
Requirements

Prior in-house legal experience within a large, matrixed, global organization.

Experience supporting medical device technologies, DME operations, or patient-facing service models.

Experience advising on Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Sunshine Act, HIPAA/privacy, and related compliance matters.

Experience supporting strategic pricing committees and contract governance processes.

Experience supporting FSS/VA contracting and government contract administration.

Experience developing templates, playbooks, training materials, or contracting tools.

Experience counseling senior business leaders on complex legal and commercial matters.

Experience assessing legal, regulatory, commercial, or operational risks.

Experience communicating complex legal concepts to business stakeholders.
