[Hiring] Senior Legal Advisor Fintech @Hotelbeds Group

Role Description

The role, with an important Fintech component, forms a key part of the Legal team in managing and advising on risk and legal liability for the group, as a Travel Tech Company, to ensure we achieve the strong growth plans of the group.

• To assist Fintech/Insurtech Team with the set-up and implementation of Fintech/Insurtech initiatives according to the roadmap, ensuring effective development of strategic projects.
• To advise Fintech/Insurtech Team on their day-to-day business decisions, reviewing contracts from a commercial perspective as well as considering the regulatory framework worldwide, providing preventive counselling on the legal requirements, identifying, monitoring and advising upon legal risks within the area.

• Legal assistance to the Fintech/Insurtech Team on the risks of new initiatives from a commercial and regulatory perspective. Monitoring of new regulations and impact on HBX activities.
• Advise Fintech/Insurtech Team on day-to-day business decisions, providing preventive counselling and reviewing contracts, especially focusing on regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with other functions (i.e Tax, Compliance, HR, IT Security…) to give aligned and complete advice to Fintech/Insurtech Group.
• To review and reshape the current ways of working aligning with the fast-paced & evolving environment of HBX, by improving, simplifying, and designing guidelines, and scalable processes/protocols jointly with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A law degree from a reputable institution, required.
• Master/specialization in Fintech Law, desirable.
• Experience in Legal Fintech, required.
• Experience in Data Protection, desirable.
• Business level of proficiency in English, required.
• Other languages will be valued.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and desirable also Spanish.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadline pressures.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in similar or related roles.
• Previous experience working as an inhouse counsel in a multinational company and dealing with Fintech matters.
• Previous experience in Fintech Dept of a law firm will be valued.
• Experience working in a multinational and multicultural environment.
