Role Description
We are looking for an outstanding product attorney to provide legal support to our StreetEasy and New Construction business lines.

Serve as legal point of contact and subject matter expert for our StreetEasy and New Construction business lines.

Support includes all aspects of the product development lifecycle, including:

Product design and copy
-
Marketing collateral
-
Vendor/partner contracts
-
Customer service scripts/escalations
-
Data use & privacy implications
-
Disclosures and terms of use

Embed yourself with business partners and provide tactical and pragmatic legal counsel for special projects, pilot programs, and other key initiatives.

Proactively partner with cross-functional business teams and shared services (e.g., privacy, fair housing, finance, compliance industry, licensing, communications, and marketing) to identify and resolve novel legal matters.

Analyze proposed and enacted legislative changes that impact assigned products and work with government relations and product teams to develop and execute implementation plans.

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including for key strategic partnerships.

Collaborate closely with other internal partners, including other product attorneys, privacy, finance, tax, risk management, and information security and compliance.
Qualifications
-
7+ years of relevant experience with a national or regional law firm or in-house legal department, preferably at a tech company.

A JD with active state bar admission.

Experience with licensing, marketing, intellectual property, and commercial agreements.

Experience with real estate regulatory frameworks, the New York real estate market, and the national builder landscape preferred.

Aptitude for innovative and goal-oriented problem solving.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Outstanding attention to detail, a proactive work ethic, and top-notch drafting and negotiation skills.

A project-manager approach to ownership of projects and the ability to quickly get things done by creating clarity from ambiguity.

A team-first attitude with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and levels.

U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC, the standard base pay range for this role is $160,900.00 - $257,100.00 annually.

In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont, the standard base pay range for this role is $152,900.00 - $244,300.00 annually.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance, and location.
