Translate regulatory and investor requirements into clear business logic and deliver compliance requirements to product and systems teams.
-
Conduct pre-launch testing of system rules, disclosure logic, and workflow configurations to confirm compliant behavior.
-
Perform post-launch validation and control testing, and coordinate updates to procedures, training, and guidance so teams understand what changed and why.
-
Analyze production data, control testing results, complaints, and audit findings to identify root causes and recommend system-level fixes.
-
Recommend and help implement remediation plans that leverage technology and workflow changes, and track compliance-driven product changes from issue identification through final validation.
-
Build cross-functional partnerships with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Legal to co-own compliant solutions and socialize best practices for compliant product design.
-
Leverage data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to scale compliance oversight and reduce manual review.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience in mortgage compliance, QA/QC, or regulatory operations, ideally in a technology-enabled mortgage or fintech environment; prior experience in loan origination, processing, quality control, or servicing is valued.
-
Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, or Systems teams to convert regulatory requirements into product and system behavior.
-
Familiarity with mortgage technology platforms (e.g., Encompass or comparable LOS/AUS systems) and aptitude for understanding system workflows and control design; configuration experience is a plus.
-
Ability to interpret mortgage documents (consumer disclosures, underwriting documentation, closing packages) and assess whether system outputs meet regulatory and investor requirements.
-
Understanding of FHA, VA, USDA, and agency guidelines, as well as federal and state mortgage laws, including disclosure timing and content requirements.
-
Ability to critically examine work, identify errors or gaps, propose system-level fixes, and apply complex regulatory concepts to real-world product and operations scenarios.
-
Curious and willing to learn AI-enabled tools, data analytics, and automation to enhance compliance processes; prior experience building or improving compliance tooling, dashboards, or workflow systems, including systems like Encompass, Airtable, or Databricks is a plus.
-
Effective communicator who can tailor guidance for technical teams and front-line staff, explain the "why" behind requirements, and work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
