Role Description
The Paralegal will play an important role in supporting attorneys through legal drafting, case preparation, research, and document management. The position will primarily focus on probate and estate planning matters, ensuring documentation is prepared to a high standard and cases move forward efficiently.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organised, and comfortable working remotely, while collaborating effectively with a distributed legal team.
Responsibilities

Legal Documentation & Drafting

Draft and prepare legal documents, including probate filings, petitions, proposed court orders, estate planning documents (wills and trusts), and family law pleadings where applicable.

Prepare legal correspondence and supporting documentation for attorney review.

Assist attorneys with the drafting and review of complex legal filings to ensure accuracy and procedural compliance.

Case Support & Coordination

Support attorneys in managing probate and estate planning matters.

Collaborate with case managers and legal assistants to ensure matters progress efficiently and deadlines are met.

Conduct legal research related to probate procedures and estate administration.

Liaise with external attorneys and law firms on behalf of the legal team when required.

Client & Internal Communication

Communicate professionally with clients via phone and email regarding document reviews, clarifications, and case updates.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with attorneys, case managers, and support staff.

Case Management & Systems

Maintain and organise digital case files using Clio (case management system) and Box (document storage).

Ensure legal documents are accurately stored, organised, and easily accessible.

Utilise Microsoft Office tools and legal software to support daily legal workflows.
Qualifications

Minimum of 3 yearsβ experience as a Paralegal.

Certification as a Paralegal or other related legal certificate is required.

Familiarity with U.S. probate processes (experience with Texas probate law is an advantage).

Experience in probate, estate planning, or wills and trusts.

Lawyers or law graduates working in a paralegal capacity are encouraged to apply.

Strong legal drafting and written communication skills.

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Comfortable working with digital legal systems and paperless workflows.

Experience working remotely with U.S. law firms is highly preferred.

Experience with estate litigation or family law matters related to probate would be advantageous.

Access and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Box and Clio.
