Role Description

We are looking for a second lawyer to join OpenArt. The title can be determined together, whether it's AGC, Counsel, Senior Counsel, or Head of Legal Ops. This position is remote in the US, with preference for candidates in San Francisco, Chicago, LA, or NYC.

Your role may involve:

• Licensing agreements across countries and continents
• Patent preparations
• Immigration issues
• Corporate governance matters
• Invitations to speak at law schools and conferences
• Collaboration deals with film directors, musical artists, and creative studios
• Agency actions from the U.S. trademark office
• Creation of AI-powered legal workflows
• State and global taxation matters
• Enterprise sales contracts
• Data privacy and information security screenings
• Financings

You can focus on:

• Contracts: customer, vendor, partner, creator
• End-to-end contract management: intake, draft, negotiate, close, file
• Tuning templates, playbooks, and systems
• Areas of interest such as Privacy, IP, Product counseling, Employment, or Legal operations

We operate with a tiny team and direct access, utilizing AI tools for drafting, review, research, and triage.

Qualifications

• Curiosity and passion outweighing intelligence
• Experience ranging from 25 years to 25 weeks
• Comfort with uncertainty and the unknown
