Role Description

CVS Health has an exciting opportunity for an in-house counsel position on the company's PBM client contracting team. In this role, you will have responsibility for:

• Negotiating pharmacy benefit contracts with employer plan sponsor clients
• Supporting sales teams on new business initiatives
• Providing advice to business colleagues on day-to-day matters

The position involves close collaboration with colleagues throughout the Legal department, as well as with numerous departments throughout the company, including:

• Government affairs
• Regulatory affairs
• Client audit
• Underwriting departments

It also involves communication with PBM clients and their benefit consultants and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Actively practicing attorney with 5+ years demonstrated experience in a law firm and/or in-house setting
• Experience with healthcare or other regulatory matters
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts
• Experience interacting with government regulators or agencies with respect to healthcare matters
• Admitted to practice law in at least one state and in good standing
• Ability to travel up to 5% (including by plane)

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations
• Experience in a PBM or health plan/insurer environment
• Experience in litigation or dispute resolution
• Experience managing and/or collaborating with outside counsel

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Juris Doctor (JD) is required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

• $144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
