Role Description

This role is vital in supporting sales and services teams, ensuring that legal advice is seamlessly integrated into commercial transactions. As a key legal advisor, you will negotiate complex SaaS agreements, particularly tailored for government contracts. Thriving in a dynamic, collaborative environment, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize legal processes that drive business growth while managing legal risks effectively. Your expertise will directly influence the company's success as it scales.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, software licensing, and professional services.
• Partner with Sales and Services teams to efficiently drive deals to closure while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Provide strategic legal guidance on RFPs and government procurement processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement scalable legal processes and templates.
• Support cross-functional initiatives related to compliance, risk management, and sales operations.
• Stay updated on laws and regulations impacting SaaS and public sector contracting.
• Develop expertise in an additional area of law to support broader initiatives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active state bar membership, with eligibility for California Registered In-House Counsel if not CA-barred.
• 6+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house at a technology or SaaS company.
• Experience in negotiating commercial contracts with government entities.
• Strong understanding of SaaS business models and software licensing.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
