Role Description

Are you a legal recruiter who knows how Big Law really hires? Vault Law is looking for someone with 5+ years in law firm or legal search recruiting to be our point person with law firms and law schools. You’ll take your expertise from one firm’s recruiting team to a market-wide stage.

As Relationship Manager, Law Firms & Law Schools, you’ll build the relationships that bring Big Law and midsize firms into the Vault survey and deepen their engagement with Vault. You’ll also grow our base of survey takers and forge partnerships with law schools, legal service providers, in-house legal departments, affinity bar associations, and search firms. You’ll draw on your recruiting expertise to open new markets and work with Vault Law leadership to drive growth. The role is remote, with regular travel to firm meetings, recruiting events, and industry conferences.

What You'll Do

• Identify Big Law and midsize firms that don’t currently partner with Vault, and drive their participation in the Vault survey and broader engagement with Vault.
• Educate prospective and participating firms on the value of the Vault survey and rankings, and support firm participation through the release of annual rankings.
• Grow Vault Law’s base of survey takers through relationships with firms, law schools, and partners.
• Identify and open adjacent markets for Vault Law, such as in-house legal departments, law schools, and legal service providers.
• Turn shifts in the legal market and legal recruiting into new engagement, content, and product opportunities.
• Work alongside Vault Law leadership to identify opportunities, support pitches, and help drive revenue growth.
• Build partnerships with legal recruiting organizations, law schools, affinity bar associations, search firms, and legal media, and work with Vault leadership to prioritize those that best support growth.
• Represent Vault at legal recruiting conferences, legal events, and firm meetings.

• Consistently brings new Big Law and midsize firms into the Vault survey and deepens engagement with participating firms.
• Delivers measurable growth in Vault Law’s base of survey takers.
• Opens viable adjacent markets and partnerships that contribute to Vault Law revenue growth.
• Trusted by law firm recruiting and professional development leaders as a credible, knowledgeable Vault representative.
• Brings forward timely, actionable insight on legal market and recruiting trends that shapes Vault Law engagement, content, and product decisions.
• Manages multiple relationships, priorities, and deadlines reliably and independently in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of current or recent experience in legal recruiting, at a law firm or a legal executive search or recruiting firm.
• Deep knowledge of legal recruiting at both the summer associate level and in the lateral market.
• Strong understanding of the Big Law and midsize legal market and how it’s changing.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with law firm recruiting, professional development, and firm leadership.
• A growth-oriented, commercial mindset, with experience developing business, partnerships, or new markets.
• Confidence and polish in client-facing settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and stay organized across multiple relationships, priorities, and deadlines while working remotely.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Based in or near New York City or Washington, DC.
• An established network across Vault 100, Am Law 200, and midsize firms.
• Experience with surveys, research, or rankings programs.

Compensation

$110,000 - $125,000 a year DOE
