Role Description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for United States-based attorneys, legal professionals, paralegals, land professionals, and title professionals experienced in real estate law, energy law, land use, leases, easements, deeds, conveyances, title instruments, interconnection agreements, and transactional legal document review.

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on AI-assisted legal reasoning evaluation, energy and real property document review, legal content annotation, citation-backed analysis, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will review legal documents, identify relevant provisions, provide structured determinations, cite supporting text, and help evaluate the accuracy, clarity, and usefulness of AI-generated legal analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Document Review & Annotation
    • Review and annotate energy, real property, land, title, and transactional legal documents against detailed written instructions.
    • Work with documents such as leases, easements, deeds, conveyances, title materials, interconnection agreements, and similar instruments.
    • Identify relevant provisions, obligations, rights, restrictions, ambiguities, and document-based conclusions.
    • Apply consistent legal or document-review judgment across multiple assignments and flag ambiguous issues for senior review where needed.
  • Citation-Backed Legal Analysis
    • Provide detailed determinations supported by document citations, page references, and relevant quoted language.
    • Explain reasoning clearly in natural language, connecting each conclusion to the supporting document text.
    • Evaluate whether AI-generated legal analysis is accurate, well-supported, complete, and aligned with the underlying document.
    • Identify unsupported conclusions, missing provisions, incorrect interpretations, weak reasoning, or incomplete legal analysis.
  • Quality Review & Model Evaluation Support
    • Quality-check legal review outputs and help identify inconsistencies, omissions, or reasoning gaps.
    • Support resolution of review disagreements or escalation issues when appropriate for senior contributors.
    • Collaborate through structured workflows designed to assess and improve legal reasoning outputs.
    • Follow detailed task instructions, quality criteria, and project-specific review standards accurately.

Qualifications

  • Experience in real estate law, energy law, land use, title review, property transactions, energy project development, or similar legal or transactional workflows.
  • Comfort independently reading leases, easements, deeds, conveyances, interconnection agreements, and related legal instruments.
  • Strong ability to locate relevant document language and cite supporting text accurately.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to explain legal or document-review reasoning clearly.
  • High attention to detail and ability to apply consistent judgment across many documents.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote, project-based environment.
  • Strong discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive project materials.

Educational Background

  • JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school is highly relevant for attorney-level roles.
  • Active U.S. bar license in good standing may be required for attorney-level assignments.
  • Paralegal, land, title, energy, or real estate transaction experience may be relevant for specialist-level assignments.
  • Professional experience in real estate, energy, land use, title, oil and gas, solar, wind, transmission, infrastructure, or related transactional practice may support project fit.
  • Relevant contributors may be calibrated across specialist, associate, senior associate, or partner-level review tracks depending on experience and screening results.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with energy projects such as oil and gas, solar, wind, transmission, battery storage, interconnection, or infrastructure development.
  • Familiarity with wholesale power markets, RTOs, ISOs, utility agreements, or project development documentation.
  • Experience reviewing title materials, land agreements, easements, site control documents, leases, deeds, or conveyancing instruments.
  • Prior experience with legal annotation, contract review, due diligence, legal research, document summarization, or quality-check workflows.
  • Ability to review the work of other contributors and help resolve document interpretation disagreements.
  • Experience completing structured skills assessments, calibration exercises, or rubric-based legal review tasks.

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply real estate and energy legal expertise to structured remote project work.
  • Contribute to high-quality AI-assisted legal reasoning and document review evaluation.
  • Use document analysis, citation-backed reasoning, and transactional legal judgment in a focused review environment.
  • Work on flexible assignments aligned with real property, energy, land, title, or transactional legal experience.
  • Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation.

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role.
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling.
  • United States-based professionals are required for this opportunity.
  • A project-provided device may be required and shipped to selected contributors for approved project work.
  • Engagement level may vary depending on screening results, experience tier, onboarding status, and project needs.
  • Competitive rates of $40–$120 per hour depending on legal background, seniority, document-review experience, and project scope.
  • Screening may include resume review and a short skills assessment covering energy and real property law concepts.
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance.
  • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, vendor, or institution.
