Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Employment Attorney or HR Compliance Lawyer to review company employment policies and ensure compliance with California labor laws.

• Review employment policies, handbooks, and HR procedures
• Identify legal and compliance risks
• Advise on California labor law and employee relations matters
• Review onboarding, termination, leave, wage & hour, and workplace policies
• Recommend policy updates and compliance improvements

Qualifications

• Active California Attorney License (Mandatory)
• Strong experience in California employment and labor law
• Knowledge of:
  • California Labor Code
  • Wage & Hour laws
  • Employee classification
  • Harassment & discrimination compliance
  • FMLA/CFRA laws
• Excellent communication and legal review skills

Requirements

• California resident (Preferred)
• Experience with startups, small businesses, or multi-state employers (Preferred)
• HR compliance and Policies review experience (Preferred)
