Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Creditors Rights Paralegal to join our growing team. This role is critical to providing legal and transactional support across loan originations, servicing matters, and defaulted loans while developing internal processes and training teams on real estate legal matters.
What You'll Do:

Review title commitments, exceptions, plats, surveys and coordinate with Title Team and outside counsel to ensure efficient preparation of lender title policies.

Work closely with corporate counsel, closing team, title team and loan officers on transactional legal issues.

Review borrower organizational documents to determine signature blocks and borrower consent requirements.

Coordinate with production team to obtain additional organizational information as needed.

Assist with answering questions from Servicing Team concerning partial releases, subordinate debt, easements and other issues and prepare documentation for the same.

Research legal questions in multiple jurisdictions.

Train internal teams on real estate transactional legal issues.

Prepare documentation on legal processes for internal team use.

May be requested to assist in creation of complex closing documents for larger loan originations.

Manage and handle defaulted loan issues.

Assist administration team with special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business, Real Estate, or a related field; paralegal certification preferred.

5+ years of experience supporting real estate transactions, commercial lending, or a similar legal environment.

Experience with defaulted loans, loan workouts, or special assets is strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of real estate and lending documentation, including title commitments, title exceptions, surveys, plats, easements, releases, and organizational documents.

Experience reviewing borrower organizational documents and identifying signature, authorization, and consent requirements.

Ability to research and analyze legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience working with attorneys, title companies, lenders, loan officers, servicing teams, and other internal stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential legal, documentation, and title issues.

Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously.

Ability to prepare, review, and maintain legal and transactional documentation accurately and efficiently.

Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
