Role Description

Surf Internet seeks a part-time attorney licensed in Illinois with approximately 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have litigation or dispute-resolution experience and be comfortable handling a broad range of legal issues in a fast-paced business environment.

This role is primarily focused on:

• Dispute management
• Litigation support
• Regulatory matters
• Compliance
• Legal research
• Day-to-day business counseling

The successful candidate must be comfortable operating independently in a lean legal department without dedicated legal assistant support.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active Illinois law license in good standing
• Eligible to practice law in Illinois without restriction
• 3-5 years of legal experience preferred
• Litigation, dispute resolution, or claims management experience strongly preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to manage legal matters with minimal supervision and without reliance on a legal assistant
• Experience with telecommunications, construction, real estate, regulatory, municipal, or utility matters is a plus
