[Hiring] Corporate Counsel @Rain Technologies Inc.

Role Description

Rain is seeking to hire an attorney who has experience working on a range of employment-law matters and on litigation matters that are relevant to the Company’s lines of business and operations (e.g., contractual disputes or other issues with service providers). The attorney in this position will be responsible for supporting the Company’s Procurement team, working on a diverse range of contracts with the Company’s service providers. The attorney will report directly to the Company’s General Counsel and may work alongside the Company’s Senior Counsel.

The position is designed to be Corporate Counsel, with opportunities for advancement and promotion in the Company’s Legal Department.

What you’ll do

• Employment Law:
  • Lead attorney providing day-to-day advice to the Company’s People team.
  • Responsible for addressing the Company’s interests in potential claims relating to employment-law issues.
• Litigation:
  • Lead attorney providing day-to-day legal advice relating to the Company’s potential or threatened claims.
  • Prepare assessments of potential risks to the Company relating to claims or actions.
  • Develop options for any settlement the Company could consider.
• Procurement Contracts:
  • Lead attorney providing day-to-day legal advice relating to the Company’s contracts with service providers.
  • Work directly with the Company’s Procurement team to review and provide guidance on contracts.

Apart from those three core areas, you will also:

• Advise on and lead investigations of whistleblower-related matters.
• Collaborate on revisions to the Company’s internal policies and procedures.

Over time, you will be trained to administer the standard contracts that the Company has developed for its core areas of operations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited institution and admitted to state bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 or more years of experience at a major law firm or corporate legal department.
• Minimum of 2 or more years of experience with human resources and employment-law matters.
• Experience in employment-law claims or litigation.
• Experience reviewing existing and new regulations and advising the Company on compliance.
• Some experience in general commercial litigation.
• Some experience handling employment litigation and arbitration of employment claims.
• Experience in reviewing and revising contracts apart from employment-law matters.
• Sharp attention to detail and diligence in explaining facts and applicable law.
• Some experience with counseling clients on whistleblower claims.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across varying levels of priorities.
• Independent, self-starter capable of developing solutions for the Company’s interests.

Compensation

$129,000.00 – $145,000.00 Base salary. Please Note: these figures represent a range, and the Company takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining total compensation for the position.
