Role Description
The Associate Counsel will support the Culligan Quench Legal Department in providing practical, business-focused legal guidance across the organization. This role involves:

Helping drive efficient, scalable legal processes
The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator with excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance risk while enabling business objectives.
Responsibilities

Contracting: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including MSAs, customer and vendor agreements, leases, licensing agreements, and other operational contracts.

Compliance & Regulatory Support: Advise business units on regulatory requirements applicable to Quenchβs operations, including privacy, data security, consumer protection, commercial, and employment-related issues.

Employment/Labor Support: Provide guidance on day-to-day employment law matters, policy interpretation, and HR-related issues in coordination with HR leadership.

Litigation Management: Support litigation and dispute resolution, manage outside counsel, and oversee internal fact development.

Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct timely research on legal issues affecting the business and provide clear, actionable recommendations.

Policy Development: Assist in drafting, updating, and implementing internal policies, processes, templates, and compliance standards.

Risk Management: Identify legal risks, propose mitigation strategies, and support the business in making informed, risk-balanced decisions.

Cross Functional Support: Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, and other departments, providing practical legal guidance to enable business goals.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.

4β6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including commercial contracting and corporate work; in-house experience strongly preferred but not required.

Strong drafting, issue spotting, and negotiation skills.

Ability to communicate clear and practical guidance to non-lawyers.

Highly responsive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Comfort working in a fast-paced business environment and exercising sound judgment with minimal supervision.

High integrity, sound judgment, and collaborative mindset.
